Frequently Asked Questions
with Dr. Spencer Coombs
Is Dr. Spencer Coombs a board-certified orthodontist?
Yes. I am a board-certified orthodontist through the American Board of Orthodontics. Board certification represents an additional level of achievement beyond completing orthodontic residency and demonstrates my commitment to continued education, advanced clinical knowledge, and providing high-quality orthodontic care for my patients.
What orthodontic treatments does Dr. Coombs provide?
I provide comprehensive orthodontic treatment for children, teens, and adults, including traditional braces, clear braces, Invisalign clear aligners, early orthodontic evaluations, and bite correction. During each consultation, I take time to understand a patient’s goals, evaluate their orthodontic needs, and create a customized treatment plan that fits their smile, lifestyle, and long-term oral health.
Does Dr. Coombs treat adults with Invisalign?
Yes, I regularly help adults improve their smiles with Invisalign clear aligners. Many adult patients choose Invisalign because they want a more discreet treatment option that fits their professional and personal lifestyles. During an evaluation, I determine whether clear aligners are the right solution based on your alignment concerns, bite, and smile goals.
When should my child see an orthodontist?
I recommend that children have their first orthodontic evaluation around age 7, even if treatment is not needed right away. Early visits allow me to monitor jaw growth, tooth development, and bite changes so we can identify potential concerns and determine the best timing for treatment if it becomes necessary.
